What We Love About Los Angeles
Nothing beats the City of Angels. We may be biased, but we think that Southern California happens to be the best place to live in the entire country. The warm weather, relaxed pace, and the outdoor lifestyle make it one of the most inviting locales in the United States.
Bright lights, big city. Los Angeles is the most populated city in California, and second most populated city in the United States, only after New York. It’s the home of Hollywood and the entertainment industry, with two of the six major film studios located with city limits. Los Angeles also hosts the annual Academy Awards, Primetime Emmy Awards, and Grammy Awards. In fact, one in every six LA residents works in a creative industry and there are more artists living there now than at any other time in history.
Los Angeles has even bestowed the nation with two most prized cultural possessions: movies and the internet. The internet was born in LA in 1969 when the first web transmission was sent from the University of California, Los Angeles to Menlo Park.
Los Angeles is a sports town. It’s home to the LA Dodgers and it will host the 2028 Summer Olympics.
The city is bordered by the Pacific Ocean to the west, and like most California beach towns, has an outdoor culture fueled by days at the beach, hiking in the mountains, and enjoyment of leisurely aquatic activities. Surfing and fishing are also popular past times that utilize the area’s abundant natural resources. Committed to preserving its lush natural resources, the state of California, led by Los Angeles, has been at the forefront of the national movement to limit pollution by mandating low-emission for its vehicles.
